Infection and development of Eimeria tenella WIS in CLEC-213. Cells were infected with sporozoites from E. tenella Wis at a multiplicity of infection (MOI) of 2 for 3 h at 41 °C. After washing, cell culture was maintained for 1 day (a), 3 days (b) or 4 days (c) p.i. and observed using bright-field microscopy. White arrowheads show (a) intracellular sporozoites (trophozoites), (b) first generation merozoites and (c) second generation merozoites released into the medium.
