    In our recently published research article „Revisited: Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato infections in hard ticks (Ixodes ricinus) in the city of Hanover (Germany)” we stated on page 8 of discussion that the used qPCR primer probe-combination targeting the 5S-23S intergenic spacer is specific for the B. burgdorferi s.l. complex and does not detect B. miyamotoi. Recent experiments using genomic DNA of B. miyamotoi as well as B. hermsii as template resulted in clear amplification signals and thus proved detection of these relapsing fever Borreliae.
