Mean ± s.e. times for An. gambiae s.s. normalised to sunset times in VK7 to take into account the effect of the difference in latitude and longitude between the two monitoring sites (VK7 and Soumousso) on the 'clock times’ of sunset and the start and end of swarming (see Data analysis test). For each data point, n = 20 (for each species, the same five swarm sites monitored on four consecutive days each month). Note: the end of swarming was not recorded for 2009.
